Sorry, my posting is running behind. I thought it was arranged for me to post via email but once we arrived China, it's hasn't worked the 2-3 times I've tried.
Sunday was a day of rest for our family. We walked the island, re-acquainted ourselves with the different locations and sadly, noticed there weren't many adoptive families to be seen. It was a sad sentiment but, we are still very happy to be located on the island. The island is beautiful in many different ways. It's beautiful in the lush greenary, extremely large trees and the more relaxed, layed-back feeling that is felt. We wanted a slower pace this time around. We wanted to be tucked away, back from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also enjoy eating at Lucy's, here on the island. Lucy's is fabulous, they have great food with very cheap prices. Can you say 6.00 for my meal and it was more food than I could eat. They cuisine that is Chinese, American and Indian. Earl and I have found a favorite dish, the Indian curry and Indian Curry Chicken-yummy!
The island also has a beautiful park which includes a playground. Sterling spent time exerting some energy on the playground and was happy when he met a friend. Sterling meets friends everywhere he goes. He rarely meets a stranger.
Sterling is doing much better today and seems to be back to the Sterling we know and love. He's back to his usual fun loving affectionate self. HOwever, he won't go within an inch of the shops front door. If we walk toward a shop, he will say, "no, no, no." We've assured him he will never again go inside any shop. Sterling is enjoying saying "hello" to everyone he passes and once he heard me saying "Ni Hao" well, he had to start saying "Ni Hao" too. His speech is improving with each passing day and prayer prayed.
We meet our guide at noon tomorrow for a business transaction before meeting her again at 2:00 to drive to the Guangdong Province Adoption Business Office.
