I'm glad to finally start a family blog..it's been a long while since I posted on any blog. We had decided long ago that going forward, we needed a family blog as oppose to a blog for each of our children. If you're wondering, we decided to keep Miao's blog. Her adoption may not have turned out as we have liked but regardless, it was a part of our life that we can't ignore.
For those of you who may not be familiar, we traveld to China on Thanksgiving Day of 2010 to adopt a beautiful 13 year old daughter. Unfortunately, while in China and after having her a part of our family for 2 days, she decided she didn't want to be adopted and refused to return home with us. This was by far, one of the most difficult times in our life and very emotional. We had spent 13 months loving and getting to know our daughter. We exchanged several letters and sent her care packages, during the wait. Those in the adoption community will understand, once you decide on a child, your love begins to form and grow, from that moment. We didn't realize Miao had options, 2 options that allowed her to remain in China and be safe. Returning home without our daughter was a painful and difficult time for our family.

I still have one final post to add to Miao's blog and if time ever allows, that post will be made. We never thought something like this could happen to us...but reality, IT DID. We want to share our story with others and God forbid it ever happen to anyone but reality, it does happen and it's important to know ahead of time, how to plan for the unthinkable...not that anyone wants to plan for this but had we traveled to China knowing what we know now, it would have helped that Wednesday afternoon, when we had 45 minutes to make a lifetime decision.... and who knows, maybe things would have turned out differently.
Faith, Love and Happiness!
