We received notice via emamil this morning that our file (I800 approval) is now uploaded at the National Visa Center! We're in!!! We received I800 approval last Tuesday, on November 1.
I started sending emails to the NVC last Thursday to inquire if our file had been loaded in the system and requesting an email of our NVC letter, once it's ready.
Here's a copy of the letter received by the NVC
Your inquiry has been received at the NVC. The adoption petition you mentioned in your letter has recently been entered into our computer system and assigned the case number listed below.
You will be notified once this case is forwarded to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General.
Once this case has been forwarded to the assigned US Embassy/Consulate General, the NVC will send a copy of the approval letter via email.
Now that we are in the NVC system, the next step is our information to be forward to the US Embassy/Consulate in China!!!! From there, the NVC will email us a copy of the letter required for the next step in our adoption, ie: next step toward travel approval!!!!!
We are getting so close.....I almost cried on the drive into work this morning when finding the email from the NVC office. It's really happening.....it's really happening....we are much closer to bringing our daughter home!!!! Not sure why this particular step is stirring up such emotions but for the simple fact, this step is bringing us much closer to the travel approval which means, YES, it's REALLY happening!!! and the mere fact this is our 4th attempt at adoption number 2 and having the disheartening situation back in December, when we traveled to China but returned home without our child---still able to feel the deep pain in my heart and somewhat scared deep down in my soul with the "what if" feeling--what if something goes wildly wrong and Arabella's adoption is halted, beyond our control-- or, what if the paperwork at some point is rejected--these and other unjustifiable questions have been racing through my thoughts and all bring a different emotional aspect to Arabella's adoption but also bring the deepest level of joy that I will soon be a mom to a beautiful little girl!!!
Next step is to receive the email NVC letter and once it's received, I'll forward it to our adoption agency who in turn, will forward it to their courier in China. This will trigger the Article 5 which will trigger the travel approval.
Here's our final steps, in simple terms:
NVC letter received
NVC letter forward to our adoption agency
NVC letter forward to the courier in China
Article 5 issued
Article 5 picked up by the courier in China & delivered to the CCWA (China Center Adoption Affairs)
Travel Approval Issued
Here's a great website that was compiled by an adoptive mom and provides all sorts of information regarding China adoption-- how to get started, time lines, navigating through the approval process and lots of other great information! This website proved to be resourceful when contacting the National Visa Center.

Please pray with us that our daughter's heart will be prepared for our arrival and continued prayers for our family's transition!
